An attractive air hostess was offered a religious pamphlet from a middle aged gentleman. The message was that God loved her and could change her life if she would commit to Jesus Christ. "This is the second time this week I have been given one of these,” she laughed. “What does God want of me?” A few days later the hostess was on Flight 11, the first of the two aircraft to crash into the Twin Trade Centre on September 11, 2001.
Our problem is that God is invisible. People really don’t know what they want out of life and they worship what they can see, feel, taste and touch. If God can’t be seen He is easy to ignore. But God does want to be seen and His great plan was revealed in Exodus 34:10, “Before all your people I will do wonders never before done in any nation. The people you live among will see how awesome is the work that I, the Lord, will do for you.“ The invisible.
God wants to be seen through His people. God set up a great people. In the reign of Solomon the Jews were bringing God’s message to the Gentiles, but Solomon’s wayward life brought down the Jewish people. In his last years Solomon tried desperately to give the world a message: Life can be lived only one way, God’s way. The message was taken up by Jesus when He said, “I am the Way.”
The stories you will read in this book will feature lives that knew “The Way” and lives which followed another way. I pray that as you examine their lives you will discover your own. We should always take note that if we lose the way, it is not the way that is lost.
There is something to ponder on every page of this superbly written book. Pithy, funny, serious, challenging; it contains a plethora of true stories that will encourage you in every aspect of your life and Christian faith.

About the author:
After a successful 25 years as a minister of religion, Al turned to a business career in retail management. Grace Bros. (now Myer) decided that his skills should be sharpened if he was to be of any use and sent him off on a management study tour in some of the of the largest retail outlets in the USA and Canada. Who knows why he turned to Sports Event Management and became the first Australian International President of World Bowls Championships. A medal for excellence in Sports Management was approved by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth 11. It would be worth your life to try and get that certificate off his study wall. In retirement he turned his hand to political lobbying and putting down a story or two. It is hoped this last project will be a blessing to every reader.
